The Rroma Foundation is active in Switzerland as well as at the EU level in lobbying on behalf of Roma. We are working in Switzerland on the recognition of the Roma Minority in the country; are working with other international NGOs on overall Roma issues; we produce country reports (not all freely available due to countries’ susceptibilities) to highlight problems and issues with Roma in Europe.

The Rroma Foundation is also now engaged in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance as part of the Swiss Delegation.

Education

On education, the Rroma Foundation is active in providing materials to teachers and professors, organises and participates in projects in the education fields, for example in the context of the IHRA on the Roma Genocide.

One of our core offerings are tailored conferences with school classes or in universities where we can provide information or teach on Roma, their history, traditions, current situation etc. all the wile providing the students with direct contact with Roma. If interested, please contact us.

Civil Society

We work in improving the situation of Roma in several ways: Highlighting institutional racism; combatting hate speech by going to court; helping Roma dealing with the administration, this, mostly in Switzerland.

Refugees

The Rroma Foundation also has helped and continue to helps Roma refugees (mostly in Switzerland). In Switzerland, this legal service and representation is free of charge and we defended many Roma from former Yugoslavia, especially from Kosovo.

We are now dealing with refugees from the War in the Ukraine, both in Switzerland, but also through a network of volunteers in Poland.

Projects

In terms of projects, we continue to provide either matching funds or advice to various Roma NGOs that have goals that match the ones from our charter. We also provide stipends to gifted Roma students.
