So rather than listing all the available albums, here is a selection of our favourites artists in all styles and countries.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\">We are always on the lookout for new recordings and CDs, so give some feedback if you think we have missed someone!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Balkan Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/kocaniorkestar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ko\u010dani Orchestar<\/a>: One of the most popular brass bands among the hundreds that exist in the Balkan. A must!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/ivopapasov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ivo Papazov<\/a>: One of the most gifted Bulgarian Rroma musicians, and probably also one of the best known ones.<\/p>\n<p>Yuri Yunakov: Another gifted Bulgarian saxophonist, no single website, but lots of references in google.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.esma.com.mk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Esma Red\u017eepova<\/a>: One of the first popular Rroma singers from Macedonia. By now an icon, and good music!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Czech and Slovak Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/romove.radio.cz\/en\/clanek\/18527\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vera Bila<\/a>: One of the best known Czech Rroma singer, with a very traditional style. No real web page, but quite some information about her. Also check the following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lastcallrecords.com\/biographies\/verabila.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a> and don&#8217;t forget youTube&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kelarova.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ida Kelarova:<\/a> A more modern form of the traditional Slovakian Rroma music. She also organises seminars and other activities.<\/p>\n<p>Perumos: A much more traditional style of music. No single website for this, but quite a few links if you search under this name.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gypsy Jazz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wikiwand.com\/en\/Django_Reinhardt\" target=\"_blank\" data-new-link=\"http:\/\/www.wikiwand.com\/en\/Django_Reinhardt\" data-noreplace=\"1\" rel=\"noopener\">Django Reinhardt<\/a>: The classic and the father of the swing or Jazz Manouche. Check the Wicki for more references.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rosenberg-trio.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rosenberg Trio<\/a>: A must&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/members.tripod.com\/~thehotclub\/TITI.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Titi Winterstein<\/a>: A classic! Guitarist, violonist, one of the best representatives of his generation of Sinti musicians. Also one of the best known.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dorado.schmitt.free.fr\/anglais\/biography.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dorado Schmitt<\/a>:\u00a0Guitarist and violonist, some of the best Jazz Manouche.<\/p>\n<p>Tchavolo Schmitt: Same family as the former. Great guitarist. No single website, but lots of references and music online.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pages.infinit.net\/michto\/biography.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angelo Debarre<\/a>: Perhaps the most gifted Manouche Jazz guitarist of his generation. An absolute must!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hungarian Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.andodrom.hu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ando Drom<\/a>: A classic group in the Vlax Hungarian style. Numerous concerts and CDs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.romanodrom.com\/eng_index_1024.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romano Drom<\/a>: A more modern group in the same stile. Needs to be heard!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amrita-it.com\/kalyi_jag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kalyi Jag<\/a>: The classic of the Hungarian Vlax style. The first group to sing in Rromanes in the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Russian Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/pagesperso-orange.fr\/Balval\/Arbat\/Arbat.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arbat<\/a>: From Paris, but with immigrant Rroma from Russia, a more modern form of the Russian Rroma music.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barynya.com\/dimitrievich.stm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aliocha and Valia Dimitrievitch<\/a>: The classics. The left Russia at the revolution, passed via Argentina, and finally to Paris. An absolute must.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.petroivanovitch.com\/photos.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les Tsiganes Ivanovitch<\/a>: Originally from Serbia, they arived in Paris in the 1970&#8217;s. They developed a style that was purely theirs, with a mix of Russian and Russian Rroma songs.<\/p>\n<p>Kolpakov Trio: One CD, and only one, unfortunately, but a must. No web-page.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barynya.com\/romen\/kolpakov.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vadim Kolpakov<\/a>: A nephew of the previous, and a gifted 7-string guitarist. Now living in the USA.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mp3sparks.com\/r2\/Bareh_Droma\/Traditional_Music_Of_Russian_Roma\/group_72812\/album_1\/mcatalog.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bareh Droma<\/a>: A recent CD of traditional Russian Rroma music. With various artists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.diana-saveljeva.narod.ru\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Diana Saveljeva<\/a>: One of the most gifted singer currently in Russia. The site is in Russian.<\/p>\n<p>Buziliev Family: No site, but if you can get your hands on their albums, they are worthwhile!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.loyko.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Loyko<\/a>: A more modern version of Russian Rroma music. Not \u00a0for all tastes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mp3.com\/albums\/237887\/reviews.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lida Goulesco<\/a>: From a Romanian Rroma family that emigrated to Russia before the revolution. She lived in Paris, where the family settled after the revolution. A must.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Romanian Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.divanoprod.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taraf de Hajdouk<\/a>: Ever since the movei &#8220;Lacho Drom&#8221;, they are the best known Romanian musicians around.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tarafuldinbia.calabashmusic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taraful din Baia<\/a>: A not so known group of Transylvania, but really authentic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asphalt-tango.de\/records\/iordache\/artist.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toni Iordache<\/a> (also spelled sometimes Lordache): The best ever. Once you have heard cymbalum played like this, well, there is no other one. Check also this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.last.fm\/music\/toni%20iordache\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.asphalt-tango.de\/records\/lunca\/artist.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gabi Lunca<\/a>: One of the best Romanian Rroma singers. Worth listening to!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/aris.ss.uci.edu\/rgarfias\/kiosk\/romica.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Romica Puceanu<\/a>: She was the best. No other thing to say. And is still remembered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serbian Rroma Music<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sabanbajramovic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u0160aban Bajramovic<\/a>: A legend in Yugoslavia, and one of the most popular Rroma singers from the region.<\/p>\n<p>Pera Petrovic: A few CDs, especially Rromano Centro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miscellaneous others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.opus4.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Opus 4<\/a>: More modern, Swing and Gypsy, but also French and others.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nuitsdeprinces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Natacha et Nuits de Princes<\/a>: Mix of Russian, French, Rroma music from various regions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The list of good Rroma musicians is long&#8230; And the list of available albums is even longer.
