How many died is still a matter of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdispute, with numbers ranging from 250\u2019000 to several millions. Truth will \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnever be known, as, contrary to popular belief, the Germans did not keep \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\taccurate track of their deeds. Only people that stayed in camps for forced \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlabour were registered. Those who were gassed upon arrival or simply shot in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe woods in numerous places where not registerd. For example, Auschwitz\u2019s \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tregisters show only ca. 405\u2019000 registered people, while the estimates of how \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmany were actually killed there range from 1.1 mio to a more probable 2.3 Mio \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpeople.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>M\u00fcller, Elena.
