The European Commission has \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tannounced in a recent press release that it awards seven distinguished organisations \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat are particularly involved in the integration of the Rroma in their \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcountries. The winning organizations include: Roma Active Albania<\/em> (RAA), which advocates the Rroma civil rights and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdraws attention to current topics of Romnja; the organization Citizens Association for the Promotion of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEducation of Roma Otaharin<\/em> that is committed in Bosnia-Herzegonvina to \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbetter educational opportunities of the minority; in Kosovo The Ideas Partnership<\/em>, which advocates \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor the integration of former beggars and promotes the enrolment of children; in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMacedonia the organization Centre for \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIntegration Ambrela<\/em> that is committed to the promotion of Rroma in early \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tchildhood; in Serbia Hands of Friendship<\/em>, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhich operates a parent-child education project; in Turkey the children\u2019s art project \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSulukule Roma Culture Development and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSolidarity Association<\/em>; and finally in Montenegro a project against child \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand forced marriages in Rroma communities, through the Centre for Roma Initiatives<\/em>. The European Commission justifies its \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdecision as follows: \u201cWe all – the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEuropean Commission, the governments, civil society organisations – need to \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsend out the same message: Roma integration is an important policy. And it is \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnot only investment for the benefit of this minority but it is also an \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinvestment to the benefit of society. Living in an environment in which each \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmember of society contributes with their spirit and work force, will allow \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcountries to grow strong and prosperous, from an economic, social and cultural \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tperspective\u201d, said \u0160tefan F\u00fcle, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPolicy, at the award ceremony.\u201d <\/em>Concerning the integration programmes of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe warded organizations it must be remarked that begging Rroma or child \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmarriages in no represent the norm among the minority.<\/p>\n
