Flatau (2014\/I) reports \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ton illegal camping Rroma immigrants in the G\u00f6rlitzer Park of Berlin. The \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thomeless Rroma families are supposed to receive integration support at the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinitiative of the leaders from the district Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg: \u201cThe district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twants to develop a new plan of action to deal with the homeless Eastern \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEuropeans. For this purpose, the \u201cworkgroup immigration\u201d was founded. This \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinterdepartmental workgroup was \u201cabsolutely necessary\u201d, said mayor Monika \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHerrmann (Green). The panel will ensure that the Roma families get a minimum \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thealth care in the future, and children and young people are enrolled in day \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcare centres and schools. With the senate authorities, a first Berlin contact \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpoint for Roma shall be initiated. In addition, the district office has applied \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor 1.2 million Euro subsidies from the EU, to fund language courses and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfurther support. However, the office cannot provide accommodations, said city counciler \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBeckers. But he knew of intensive<\/em> efforts \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof the commissioners for integration of the Senate in providing housing for \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRoma families.<\/em> This was preceded by \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tprotests against the illegal camping Roma families. This season, more people \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthan in past years had stayed in the G\u00f6rlitzer Park and in vehicles at the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tG\u00f6rlitzer Strasse <\/em>[…].\u201d However, the media focus on homeless Rroma \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\timmigrants casts a bad light on the situation of Rroma in Germany. While the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmedia and politicians are concerned almost exclusively with the recently \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\timmigrated Rroma, they neglect the majority of the 110,000 to 130,000 Rroma, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhich have been living integrated in Germany for generations and speak perfectly \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGerman. They are the proof that integration is possible without problems \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t(compare Flatau 2014\/II).<\/p>\n
