The teaching material is supposed  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto be based on the white paper on the discrimination against Rroma in Sweden,  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twhich the government published this March. The white paper documented a largely  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tignored history of exclusion and marginalisation of the minority. In response  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto the negative findings of the investigation, a commission against Roma  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdiscrimination was initiated. It is now tasked with the realisation of the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttextbook: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cOn Thursday the government  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tannounced it had asked the commission to create school and teaching materials  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfrom the white book, to be used in all of Sweden&#8217;s secondary schools. \u201cIf we  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare going to fight the alienation of Roma that we see today, we must be aware  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof this dark history of abuse\u201d, Ullenhag told newspaper Dagens Nyheter. The  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSwedish National Agency for Education, the Living History Forum, and the Roma  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdiscrimination ombudsman will collaborate to produce the school materials.  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tUllenhag said that Swedish students should already be learning about the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thistory of Romani people in Sweden, but that the quality of available materials  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand information had been poor.\u201d<\/em> In November 2013, Sweden was in the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\theadlines all over Europe because it became public that the police had created  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tan illegal register with thousands of Rroma, which classified them as potential  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcriminals solely because of their ethnicity.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Local (2014) Sweden orders textbook on Roma discrimination.
