Aubry is said to have  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tclaimed in a public statement to want to accommodate 30% of the Rroma living in  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFrance in the city of Lille. In a later announcement she is said to have corrected  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe number to 10% of the Rroma. The statements are especially contradictory because  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tseveral large Rroma camps of Lille had been evicted during the summer of 2013: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cThe mayor of Lille tries to justify this  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thuge discrepancy by explaining that she did not renounce her policy, but that Lille  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thosts a disproportionate part of the Roma population of France: 30% [of the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpopulation] she stated in November on France Inter. &#8220;I have never changed  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmy declaration since 2008, I have always said the same thing: humanity, she  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsaid. Accommodate a part of the Roma, but not 30% of all those on the French  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tterritory. We are ready to accommodate 10%, that is to say 1,500. With  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thumanity.\u201d <\/em>Boy rightly points out that the figures about the Rroma based in  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFrance \u2013 immigrated ones as well as those with a French passport \u2013 are very  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinaccurate. But to accuse Aubry of a repressive Rroma policy is inappropriate.  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAubry called on several occasions for an inclusive policy towards the Rroma in  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFrance.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Boy, Louis (2014) Roms \u00e0 Lille: Aubry compte-t-elle  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttrop large?
