Le Nouvel Observateur (2014) reports on the lawsuit on the right of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tresidence for the family of Leonarda Dibrani, whose deportation made national \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmedia coverage last autumn and led to strong criticism of French migration \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpolicies. The spokesman of the French administrative court stated that the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tapplication of the Dibrani family for a residence permit will be most likely \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trejected. The final verdict is still pending. The court criticised that Mr. and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMrs. Dibrani could not point to any real integration efforts. They isolated themselves \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand Mrs. Dibrani cannot speak any French, the court added. Leonarda and her \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfamily nonetheless still hope to be granted a residence permit for the whole \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfamily. France was her home, not the Kosovo, Leonarda stated. Also, she doesn\u2019t \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tspeak any Albanian, which makes her integration in the Kosovo more difficult \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthan in France.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dubasque (2014) takes the events of Leonarda as an opportunity to reflect \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ton the French Rroma policies. The approximately 15,000 Rroma in France are and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twere the target of a rigorous order-policy, which takes no account of their \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thistorical exclusion and marginalization. The Rroma are being represented \u2013 \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDubasque criticizes \u2013 \u00a0as if they uphold \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tillegal migration, are not willing to work and want to live in degrading \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tconditions voluntarily. Because basic human rights are \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twithheld from them, for many Rroma, a successful integration is a highly \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdemanding task. <\/p>\n
