{"id":30475,"date":"2025-11-15T18:07:01","date_gmt":"2025-11-15T17:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rroma.org\/?p=30475"},"modified":"2025-11-15T18:07:01","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T17:07:01","slug":"budapest-symphony-orchestra","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rroma.org\/de\/budapest-symphony-orchestra\/","title":{"rendered":"Budapest Symphony Orchestra"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The idea for the Budapest Roma Symphony Orchestra, known as the legendary &#8220;100 Violins&#8221; orchestra, was born in 1984, at the funeral of the famous Hungarian soloist S\u00e1ndor Jar\u00f3k Sr. That day, hundreds of Roma musicians from all over Hungary gathered to pay their last respects, and from that emotional moment of togetherness came the idea to found an orchestra that would preserve the spirit of the Roma musical tradition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A year later, in 1985, the visionary L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Berky and his associates founded the orchestra that would become a symbol of the Roma artistic soul and the cultural heritage of Hungary.
