The latter  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tplayed a prominent role in the campaign, often in the figure of a scapegoat for  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsocial ills or in the form of slums. The frightening thing about the terminologies  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cRroma question\u201d and \u201cRroma problem\u201d is their inevitable reference to the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u201cJewish question\u201d under National Socialism. However, in the case of France, the  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\timportant question is how to integrate immigrant Rroma as successfully as  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpossible. To accuse them of a cultural unwillingness to integrate is  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcounterproductive. But precisely this happened again and again in the course of  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe election campaign. Another point of contention are the so called \u201cintegration  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tvillages\u201d, which are meant to facilitate the integration of the Rroma immigrants  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tinto French society. The proponents see the integration villages as a positive  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmethod to prevent the emergence of slums, to promote the enrolment of children  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin schools, to prevent begging and other unwanted activities and to foster the willingness  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto integrate among the immigrants. Critics fault the high cost of the institutions  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand see it as unfair advantage for one ethnic group at the expense of other  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttaxpayers. In this discussion about the integration measures for immigrant  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma, once more only the visible Rroma are in the focus. The ones who are living  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tan integrated life in France, making up between 100,000 and 500,000 persons,  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare never addressed or considered in these discussions.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rigaux, Marianne (2014) Int\u00e9grer les roms, \u00e7a co\u00fbte cher.
