Co\u00fbteau belongs to the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnational-conservative and Eurosceptic party <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Souverainet\u00e9, ind\u00e9pendance et \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tlibert\u00e9s<\/em> (SIEL), which he founded \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thimself. On his blog, he expresses the idea that Rroma should be put in specialy \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\testablished camps. The article has the telling title \u201cOn the establishment of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma in Paris and the slow extinction of the national sense of honour\u201d. Co\u00fbteau \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tperceives the sight of impoverished Rroma in the streets of Paris as aesthetically \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdisturbing: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cTheir presence is an \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tunworthy sight for Paris and unworthy of France, unworthy of a great country, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand a problem for the aesthetic order.\u201d<\/em> He stands for election for the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\telectoral coalition <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">Rassemblement Bleu \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMarine<\/em> as mayor for the sixth district of Paris. Co\u00fbteau expresses himself \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnegatively towards the free movement of persons with Romania and Bulgaria, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tagainst which he voted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Co\u00fbteau\u2019s perspective on \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe Rroma is as one-sided as the majority of the public debate, which focuses \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tonly on visible Rroma. It is also telling, that he states to be hurt in his \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnational honour by the sight of Rroma. He therefore reveals himself as a \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tproponent of a radical order-policy that puts aesthetic feelings before human \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdignity, which is totally absurd.
