This is criticised in particular by the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCentral Council of German Sinti and Roma. The issue is a statute of the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfoundation, which demands that the German Rroma groups provide one single \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcommon representative. The three largest Rroma associations of the country, the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCentral Council of German Sinti and Roma, the Sinti-Alliance and the International \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRoma Union, could not agree on the selection of a common representative: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cthe Central Council of German Sinti and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRoma demands that finally a representative of these ethnic groups should be \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tappointed into the board of the foundation \u201cremembrance, responsibility and future\u201d, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor the compensation of forced labourers. One has again contacted the chairmen \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof all parliamentary factions with the request to end this \u201cillegal and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdisparaging condition of a minority\u201d, said the chairman of the Central Council, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRomani Rose, on Wednesday in Berlin. [&#8230;] The legal advisor of the Central \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCouncil, Arnold Rossberg, stressed that his association has no intention to \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tclaim for itself the exclusive representation for all Sinti and Roma in Germany. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tHowever, it is not acceptable that the representatives of these groups are not \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tonly refused from the board, but also from the participation in the meetings \u2013 \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twithout voting rights \u2013 or the access to minutes of the meetings. What is more, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe board frequently addressed issues of both individual compensation for Sinti \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tand Roma, as well as to cultural and social promotion projects. Hopefully, it \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tis uncontested that concerning these questions \u201cno one has more expertise than \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe victims themselves\u201d, said Rose\u201d <\/em>(Balcerowiak 2014). The dispute about \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe foundation and a common Rroma representative has a multiple, symbolic \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcharacter. On one hand, the dispute is symptomatic of the continuing exclusion \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof the minority in the definition of decisions it concerns. Rroma \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trepresentatives have criticized repeatedly that until today, most of time one \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttalks about them and not with them, what often is a patronizing act. On the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tother hand, the argument shows that the demands and views of the individual representatives \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof the minority, despite common claims, are heterogeneous: the Sinto-Alliance \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trejects the generic term \u201cRoma\u201d for the minority (Balcerowiak 2014 \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS\u00fcdwestpresse 2014).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Balcerowiak, Rainer (2014) Sinti und Roma wollen mit an den Tisch.
