A big wedding on a field in the Valais last \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsummer generated a lot of media coverage, and cast a negative image on involved \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma. The field was very dirty after the festivities. However, actual impetus \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfor discontent was the public image that resulted from the incident. Swiss \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJenische found that the coverage which often equates Jenische with Rroma, to \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmisrepresent them. The cultural differences that are highlighted by members of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe two ethnic groups are both factual and political. Certain cultural \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdifferences are decidedly emphasized to distinguish their identity from the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tother group. The Director of the Foundation \u201cFuture of Swiss Travellers\u201d Urs \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGlaus notes in an interview with \u201cLe Temps\u201d that <em style=\"font-family: Arial; \">\u201cLes gens du voyage suisses sont \u00e0 90% des \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tJenisch. Ils ont un mode de vie tr\u00e8s diff\u00e9rent des gens du voyage \u00e9trangers, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsurtout des Roms, comme c\u2019\u00e9tait le cas en Valais<\/em>.\u201d <em style=\"font-family: Arial; \">[90% of Travellers in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSwirtzerland are Jenische.
