Fourteen barracks were destroyed by the flames. One of the residents \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tdied in the fire. The fire had originated inside his hut. It is assumed that the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tincident is an accident: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cThe victim, whose \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tage could not be clarified, passed away after a fire had started inside of his \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tshack, at about two clock in the morning, in the night of Saturday to Sunday, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe fire fighters stated [ &#8230; ] \u201cIt was not criminal, as it seems, but purely accidental. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe man supposedly went to bed with a candle, Father Arthur Hervet, a priest \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfrom Lille who helps the inhabitants and was on location Sunday midday, told \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAFP.\u201d<\/em> Before the investigations are complete, one should not jump to \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tconclusions. A special feature of the settlement of Villeneuve d&#8217;Ascq is that \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tit is not illegal. The local Rroma live on the premises in agreement with the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tmunicipality of Lille. The settlement is equipped with running water and \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttoilets.
