Memarina \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t(2013) spoke with Marius Krauss from the youth club \u201cForo Amaro\u201d who works on \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe participation of Rroma and Gadje in the society. Krauss sees the statements \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof Interior Minister Friedrich, who for months warned of a mass immigration of \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma from Romania and Bulgaria, as being dominated by fear and prejudice. Among \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRomanian and Bulgarian immigrants there is just approximately 10 percent of Rroma. \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tMany present this migration as being solely Rroma. The same holds true with the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tbeggars in Berlin: \u201cAmong beggars, there \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tare many who have no Roma background. They are made only to: Begging is being made \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tas a Roma characteristic, poverty and theft also.\u201d \u00a0<\/em>Krauss thus points to the important fact that many people \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twith non-standard behaviour are attributed a Rroma identity and vice versa, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma who actually do not meet these requirements are stigmatised. This includes \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthe image of the many children in Rroma families. In the case of the immigrant \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRroma from the village of Fontanelle, the fact that the community in question \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\twere evangelical Pentecostals was ignored. Because of their faith they cannot use \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcotraceptives. That this is not true for all Rroma who belong to different \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tfaiths, it is all to often forgotten.<\/p>\n

Lechler \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t(2013) reports on the clearance of an informal Rroma neighbourhood in Eforie in \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tRomania. By focusing on the destruction of Rroma settlements in Romania, \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLechler wants to identify possible reasons for the migration to Western Europe \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tthat go beyond a simple economic migration. The observance of minority rights \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tin Romania is very poor when compared with Germany.<\/p>\n

Bade (2013) \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ttakes a critical look at the current immigration debate in Germany and puts the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpredicted mass immigration through historical facts: After the accession to the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEU of countries such as Poland, a mass exodus was not observed, and the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tpublished statistics on 147,000 Romanian and Bulgarian immigrants in 2011 are \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tnot reliable sources, \u201cthen one should \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\thave considered the strong annual return migration, for example of seasonal \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tworkers. In this sense, for example for 2011, there was a net balance approximately \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t64,000 immigrants from Bulgaria and Romania not mentioned in the noise raised \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tby the cities about the 147,000 migrants. This led to an equally sensational \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcorrection by a critical group of scientists who quoted the statistic of the \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcities is their \u2018non-statistic of the month\u2019.\u201d<\/em> Bade sees the polemical \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tremarks about the so-called poverty immigration greatly influenced by the debate \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\ton the book by Tilo Sarrazin influenced and with its associated polemics around \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tof integration and alterity.<\/p>\n
