In the town of Bansk\u00e1  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBystrica, the right-wing extremist Marian Kotleba has been elected as Regional  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPresident. Kotleba won the election against the incumbent Social Democratic  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tcandidate. Kotleba is known because of his numerous racist actions and  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tstatements against Rroma. He is Chairman of the extreme rightist \u201cPeople&#8217;s  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tParty &#8211; Our Slovakia\u201d: <em style=\"font-family: Arial;\">\u201cKotleba has been  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tknown for years for his campaign against the Roma minority &#8211; and for  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tappearances in uniforms that are modelled on fascist originals. He has been  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\trepeatedly arrested by the police and charged with racial incitement and threat  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tto democracy. Convicted he never was.\u201d<\/em> That a confessed right-wing  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\textremists and Rroma hater is now influencing the policy of Bansk\u00e1 Bystrica  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tshould give all supporters of democratic values something to think about.  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tApparently many people seem to have learnt nothing from history.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Die Welt (2013) Roma-Hasser  \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tsiegt \u00fcberraschend bei Regionalwahl.
