{"id":33534,"date":"2026-07-13T16:14:11","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T15:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rroma.org\/?p=33534"},"modified":"2026-07-13T16:14:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T15:14:11","slug":"bosnian-war-crimes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rroma.org\/fr\/bosnian-war-crimes\/","title":{"rendered":"Bosnian War Crimes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">July 12 marks the 34th anniversary of one of the most serious and monstrous crimes committed against Roma civilians during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the Orthodox holiday of St. Peter&#8217;s Day in 1992, members of a paramilitary formation known as &#8220;Sima&#8217;s Chetniks&#8221; carried out a massacre of the inhabitants of the Roma settlement of Sko\u010di\u0107 near Kozluk, near Zvornik.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After looting, brutal beatings, torture, rape and humiliation, they captured members of Roma families and then took them to the hamlet of Hamzi\u0107i near Male\u0161i\u0107, where they were shot and thrown into a pit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">28 Roma civilians were killed in the crime, including nine children and one pregnant woman.
