An initiative in Alsózsolca is trying to provide an answer to this: doulas trained from local Roma women accompany pregnant women. An interview with doula Rita Kishonthy-Kardos, the professional leader of the EMMA Association’s community companions program, about obstetric violence, racism, and how doulaship can become community support and a tool for self-assertion.</p>
