With the inclusion of the fight against antigypsyism as a state goal, Brandenburg would be the second federal state after Schleswig-Holstein to write this down in its constitution, Central Council of German Sinti and Roma President Romani Rose told the Evangelical Press Service (epd). “This would be an important step that would make it clear that Sinti and Roma have been at home in Germany for centuries, including in Brandenburg.”

Several new stumbling stones for Sinti victims of the Nazis were set up in Bonn. More than half of the local Sinti were killed during the Nazi regime.

Not much this week in France. A book on Roma by Nicolas Clément, a volunteer at the Secours Catholique, with the title: “Precariousness for all luggage. Another look at the Roma” (Editions de l’Atelier). As usual, unfortunately, this reinforces the stereotype that all Roma are poor and other stereotypes. Not good.

Measures to support the culture, language and identity of the Roma national minority are part of the action plan for 2022-2024, based on the main strategy of Roma inclusion until 2030. The plan focuses on stabilizing and developing institutions dedicated to Romani culture, supporting Romani culture, supporting Romani media, the development and vitality of the Romani language, and raising awareness of the rights of the Romani national minority.
The Romani language is the first topic covered in a ten-part series of reports entitled Visegrad Romani Magazine. It is prepared jointly by three Roma television stations: Dikh TV from Hungary, TV Romana from Slovakia and ROMEA TV from the Czech Republic.
