There are three large styles among the nordic Rroma groups: Flamenco, Gypsy Jazz, Russian Rroma Music. All have the guitar in common and, with the exception of Gypsy Jazz, a heavy reliance on voices and dance. In fact, looking at Russian Rroma music and Flamenco, one is often surprised by the similarities between the two.
Only Gypsy Jazz, a creation of Django Reinhardt in the 1930’s is different. While distinctively Gypsy, it is nevertheless a new style, played predominantly by Sinti.
