Nothing to say … This speaks for itself in Graz, Austria.
More and more Rroma are being evicted from their lodgings to make space for new developments or tenants. This mostly without compensation.
The Swedish government, who was condemned for having run a secret annd illegal data base on Rroma is appealing the judgment.
SHAME!!!
Rroma were interned between 1942 and 1944 in the French camp of Saliers, before being deported further. A remembrance ceremony was held a while back for the Rroma victims.
A Rromni was beaten up by Skinheads in Zajecar for not obvious reasons other than her ethnicity.
BAD!
The European Commission report on Rroma integration calls for renewed efforts towards this goal. The First Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, is quoted saying: “Roma are part of our societies, and they are part of Europe. This report comes as a timely reminder for Member States to show more political determination and implement their commitments to integrate Europe’s Roma communities. Member States should use to the full the relevant policy, legal and financial tools to ensure equal opportunities and Roma inclusion.”
Several organisations, including Amnesty International are accusing Italy to have placed Rroma in inhumane conditions in the camp of Masseria del Pozzo. A camp that was in addition hastily destroyed as soon as the fact became known.
The EU is saying that Rroma children are still being segregated in schools in the EU. Although the article doesn’t mention it, Hungary is at the forefront of this segregation, flowed by other ex-Austro Hungarian monarchy countries.
SHAME!
Interesting interview and article of Daniel Huber, president of the association of the Jenische – Radgenossenschaft der Landstrasse. What is said about Rroma is beside the point. And a remark that Jenische have equality of genders should at best have been omitted here. Just shows that Rroma are not know there either.
The little side article on different groups is for once quite good. Sinti are with us there.
Nice article on Rroma food, but also on the actions of several Rromnja in Rome, in Budapest and in other cities who use food to combat stereotypes.
A fight was reported in Lörrach in Southern Germany between football fans and Rroma who lived nearby. Both groups clain the other started. Well, knowing the precedents amongst Football fans, that they would be attacked by Rroma seems a bit far fetched.
Once again, these supporters are not the best breed…
Rroma (Lovara not Gitanos/Kale as written by this very well informed journalist) are being told they need to leave the camp they are currently occupying near Neuchatel in Switzerland. Increasingly, camping spots are being segregated in Switzerland, with Rroma being kept out …
BAD.
Bexit is a risk for many Rroma families who moved to the UK in the last few years. Many Polish, Slovak, and many others moved there in search of a better live. What now?
Together with the radicals, Rroma in Milan are saying they are not a security issue. This was the thesis of the previous management of Rroma and Sinti issues, and this has to cease.
