An exhibition in Weimar showcases the fate of Roma in concentration camps.
A young Polish Romni who is a reality TV star after having participated in the “Voice of Kids” in Poland turns 15. Viki Gabor was born in Hamburg as the daughter of Ewelina and Dariusz Gabor – Roma of Polish origin. She lived first in Poland, then in Great Britain, eventually returning to Poland for good.

Austria is discussing the establishment August 2nd as a national remembrance day for the Roma and Sinti victims of the Nazis.

As if we needed this. A shooting took place in Palma de Majorca. A car belonging to one Roma gang was shot at by a rival Roma gang. The person who shot at the car was arrested and has already been sentenced.

A Sinti family residing in Bavaria, who made a stop in Ettlingen, reports on terrible racist insults. The police has been alerted and an audio recording was presented.
According to e recent study presented at a conference on the “State of Roma educational integration: from segregation to education in an ethnically mixed environment”, organized by the “Amalipe” center (link is external) on July 4 and 5 in Sofia, almost 1/2 of the schools in our country have a majority of children from vulnerable groups (so Roma and other minorities).
This amounts more and more to a form of segregation.
The nationwide reporting and information centre for antiziganism has been opened in Berlin. In the future, attacks and insults directed against Roma and Sinti can be reported there.
There are not enough camping sites for Roma travellers in Basle, Switzerland …

She is also currently serving as Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media has declined to attend a ceremony marking the 100thbirthday of Philomena Franz, where the Sintica and Holocaust survivor will tell about her life.
Several articles on the Serbian president Vučić recognised the first generation of participants in the Barvalipe program, for young Roma to work in the Serbian Public administration.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the creation of the Auschwitz Museum, a commemorative album “75 years of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and Memorial Site” has been published. It is divided into six chapters: the establishment of the museum, the survivors at the memorial site, preservation of authenticity, education and memory, visits and the caretakers of the memorial site.
Photographs illustrating events in the history of the museum are accompanied by quotations from letters and entries in the commemorative book, mainly by leaders of states and international organizations, which emphasize the role and importance of the place. The album ends with a calendar of the most important events in the history of the museum.
The Council of Europe is warning that there should not be a deterioration of human right in the UK.

Stanislav Křeček, the current Czech ombudsman and former ČSSD politician, is, to put it mildly, extravagant. Critics blame him for ignoring his agenda and not understanding it at all. Křeček became famous for his statements about the fact that Roma discrimination does not exist in the Czech Republic – that is, in a country that has already lost before the European Court of Human Rights due to Roma segregation.
He should be removed from office.
