Following the manifestation protesting against systematic abuse in the Bounets neighbourhood, a fight broke out between Rroma and ethnic Bulgarians over loud music, leaving 6 wounded, and two arrested.

A Rrom, an official of the Euroroma political party was indicted and arrested together with 4 other people on suspicion of human trafficking and loan-sharking.
Can very well be true, but criminality is not an ethnic characteristic… It is a crime, nothing more.
The town of Garmen is bracing itself again about protests against the “illegal” Rroma houses. This endless story continues.

Residents of Garmen, Bulgaria renewed their protests at “illegal” Rroma houses. Last time this occurred, this resulted in a several manifestations, assaults, and in a plethora of racist articles and statements.
This needs to be followed.

Three policemen were injured in Bulgaria when they intervened to disperse an anti Rroma riot that was sparked by an incident two days ago where four Rroma men were charged with attempted murder on three non Rroma Bulgarians.

The central Bulgarian town of Pazardzhik is banning for the full veil being worn by some Rroma women. This is bad, but actually what is worse is that even under the Ottomans, Rroma never ever wore the veil … Fanaticism is doing headways. Dangerous.
A summary of the aggression against the young Rrom in Bulgaria who stated “you are my equal” to an obviously racist and brutal Bulgarian.
And the spring comes, and camps are dismantled or at least threatened … The French constant. In Ris Orangis, near Paris, a camp was dismantled; in Annet sur Marne, the tribunal will decide on May 6th about the camp, a camp which has neighbours up in arms; in Lyon, a new camp in the city; in the North, Rroma are being displaced to a new location in Vauban amidst opposition; and near Paris, a commune searches for a solution for sedentarised travellers.
Meanwhile, former residents of a camp in Paris are looking for a new address; and mayors in several cities in France are really increasing their racist rhetoric. Finally, a Bulgarian death in a camp lands in front of the justice – with the usual background of “human trafficking”.
A young Rrom was brutally beaten in Bulgaria (and the beating was filmed) for having said to the man he was his equal… If this is not racism!
The man has now been arrested. Let’s see what he is condemned to.

The US is naming the marginalization of Rroma in Bulgaria as that country’s biggest Human Right problem.

A Romanian former minister states that the Romanian minority in Bulgaria is deprived of its rights … And what does she uses as a claim: Vlax Rroma living in Bulgaria. This is new and as suprising as if Orban were to defend the Hungarian minority in Romania citing that they are Rroma (actually, many Hungarian speakers in Romania are Rroma).

Two Bulgarian Rroma were sentenced in Sweden for running a begging scheme involving disabled and illeterate people. Bad.
This will be enough to renew the folktales of mafia like structures among Rroma and their involvement in begging, prostitution, etc.
An article on begging and Rroma accessing social services in Helsinki is really not acceptable. It is full with factual errors (no, most Rroma who come from Romania and Bulgaria are not and never were travelers), generalises, and implicitly associates Rroma with beggars.

The Swedish government is telling its citizen not to give any money to beggars, who, anyhow apparently are mostly Romanian and Bulgarian…
