Germany and Refugees

Published by:

A German psychiatrist is being indicted for having broken the doctor’s confidentiality following the expulsion of a young Rrom back to Kosovo. He had treated him and found him to be in need of a treatment due to trauma encountered in his home country but was nevertheless sent back.
The psychiatrist openly (and in the press) complained about the expulsion.
At least there are still some people with courage.

Kosovo: The Other Victims

Published by:

The other victims of the Kosovo war, the Serbs, the Rroma, Moslem Slavs, Turks, and even Albanians are increasingly asking for justice. Many of them were killed by the UCK, were ethnically cleansed from their ancestral homes.
Up till now, no one was condemned for those acts, even in the case of Haradinaj who was judged in the Hague’s tribunal. In that latter case, several witnesses were subjected to extreme pressure not to appear in court.
Let’s hope for justice!

Kosovo and Justice

Published by:

Years after the end of the Kosovo war, Rroma still await justice for the crimes committed against them in that region by the UCK and Kosovo nationalists. They were evicted from their houses, killed, simply disappeared. And most of all, they were kicked out of their country, a country where they had stayed since their arrival more than 1000 years ago.

The Story of an Expulsion

Published by:

An interview of the young Rromni Leonarda Dibrani who was expulsed from France together with her family (in spite of being in school). While they were expelled to Kosovo, she now lives in Croatia, which says a lot about the “safety” of Kosovo for Rroma. And it is difficult for her.
A worthy read on the damage of mistaken Refugee policies.

Cologne: Maybe they Can Stay

Ramush Harradinaj …

Published by:

The former prime minister of Kosovo and ex Leader of the UCK, Ramush Harradinaj has been arrested in France on a Serbian warrant. Harradinaj is being sought for crimes against Serbs, Rroma, and other minorities in Kosovo during the Kosovo war. This resulted in an outrage in Kosovo, but fact is, Kosovo was ethnically cleansed under his rule, and very thoroughly so, with only 10% of the Rroma remaining.
Nothing could ever be proven against him, but many witnesses were pressured and intimidated if not simply vanished (we know such cases).

Bad Taste …

Published by:

HEKS, the Protestant help organisation is advertising for donations using all clichés about Rroma. If you watch the pictures, you find them all.
While the situation of Rroma in Kosovo is bad, it is not all ghettoes. Rroma there were integrated and had houses in the cities etc. In brief, this kind of campaign shows that stereotypes also exist in NGOs and simply re-inforce the prevalent views.
BAD.

Regensburg, Germany: Refugees leave the Parish House

Regensburg, Germany: Refugees leave the Parish House

In Regensburg, the Rroma who initially occupied the cathedral and then accepted to move to a parish house have left that parish house. Tow of them, one from Kosovo and the other from Macedonia who are under an expulsion order have been arrested. The rest of the refugees have been handed over to the various authorities in charge of refugees. They most probably will also be deported at some point due to the “safe country” policies of Germany.

UN urged to Pay

The UN is being urged to pay a compensation of the Kosovo Rroma who were parked in a refugee camp sitting atop of a industrial toxic dump. Many of these Rroma were poisoned by heavy metals and other toxic compounds.

Two years ago, the fate of a young Rromni – Leonarda – from Kosovo who was expulsed from France filled the papers. She was found by a journalist in Kosovo where she works as a waitress. It says a lot about those expulsions.
