Serbia is not safe for Rroma – this what people who went there say about it.
Scary – Erpatak again, and what is happening there.
Police is taking action against a large camp of migrants, mostly from Rromania (and thus assumed to be Rroma) in Malmö. This camp has been growing and residents are alarmed at having a shantytown on their doorstep.
The Bulgarian church stated explicitely that Moslems were not welcome in Bulgaria. This allegedly to prevent an “invasion”. Well, Turks and Rroma from Bulgaria are also Moslems, and make around 13% of the population. Are they too unqwelcome? Let’s not forget that in the 80’s, Bulgaria expelled roughly 400’000 Turkish Moslems to Turkey (they went to settle in Cyprus – well done Bugaria). That is almost 5% of the Bulgarian population of that time.
Is this Christian?
Rroma who are under threat of deportation to their former “home” country due to the “safe country” regulation are currently occupying a church in Hamburg. This is their last hope. And a shame for Germany, especially in the case of Rroma from Bosnia and from Kosovo, two countries that were ethnically cleansed with Europe watching and doing nothing.
A militant activist beat up a homeless man to steal his puppy, claiming it was drugged. Well, maybe, but how did he know beforehand? And the proof is still outstanding. Cherry on the cake, the militant claims that Rroma drug their animals, and even some of them eat cats.
This is not limited to Rroma, and it seems that while cat eaters are found among all populations, idiots, bigots, and racists are too.
SHAME…
Slovakia chooses the movie on the Rroma boxer nicknamed “Koza” – the goat – as their Oscar submission!
Rroma in Hamburg have occupied a church as a protest against blanket expulsions based on the “safe country” principle. Especially when in the case of Kosovo, Bosnia, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Join the protest!
Romania is circulating a story about Rroma heping refugees by “confusing” the police in dressing them as Rroma. This is NOT JOURNALISM… Pure detox.
The movie is making waves! Good, but let’s remember this is Romania, and Romania only. Let’s not generalise on all Rroma.
A new genetic study about Rroma clearly shows their origins and part of their migrations. Serious and interesting.
Muharem Serbezovski is one of the key Rroma voice in nowadays’ Serbia. Listen to him, and not to the copycats …
The designer Mary Katrantzou in her latest show is inspired by Kusturica’s movie “The Time of the Gypsies”. Fine, but saying that it is a “film that demonstrates the traditional Romani culture” is WRONG AND FALSE.
It is a movie that depicts poor Rroma engaged in criminal activities. It is a film about being poor and outcast, not about cultural traits.
According to latest news, Rroma who are expulsed from Germany and return to Serbia will be denied any social help, according to a publication from Amnesty International.
This needs to be closely monitored!
An art project in Nitra (Slovakia) is raising tensions in the town. Panels in 4 languages, including Rromanes are raising awareness of the fate of minorities and their integration. The same exhibition was slated in Budapest and cancelled after 24 hours as there are no minority issues there …
Macedonia is saying the EU is planning a ban on Balkan refugees. This is already the case with the so-called “safe countries” but could be extended to Kosovo, Macedonia, and Montenegro. This would bar Rroma who are discriminated in those countries from seeking asylum and would also deprive the community of a mean to improve their fate in those countries. This only happens if refugees are on the EU’s door.
Read this… Badly thought arguments, and the way against them on the refugee crisis. The paragraph on Rroma is particularly scary: The argument goes as follows: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria have not managed to integrated their Rroma, so they cannot take on any refugees.
The right way to say it: Nationalistic policies have tried to ethnicise and segregate minorities, and these have failed. Has nothing to do with refugees, and all to do with tolerance.
The Bulgarian Development Minister said she will not resign following calls to do so on her handling of the crisis in Garmen where houses continue to be destroyed. She says she is following the law… This is not always a good argument.
Representatives of the Rroma education fund met last Friday in Budapest and re-iterated that education is key for Rroma. Without it, no integration will truly be possible.
During a manifestation against Orban’s policies on refugees, Jenő Setét, a Rroma activist slammed Orbán for its policies and statements on Hungary’s Rroma. Recently Orban even stated that he would not wish other countries to live with such a minority…
