Slovenia, Roma, and the Police

Published by:

An attack by the “citizens of Kočevje on the police” made the news in Slovenia. When pursuing the underage drivers who did not want to surrender, they encountered a “group of people” who then tried to prevent the arrest by hitting, pushing and threatening the police.

Robert Tomazin, a “real” citizen of Kočevje, warned that this is grossly distorted reporting that does not say anything about the real attackers. He wrote on his Facebook profile that it is a distorted report that casts a bad light on the other citizens of Kočevje, while the real perpetrators were members of the Roma community.

Bad in every sense.

Slovenia and the Roma “Problem”

Published by:

The SDS (Slovenian Democratic Party) parliamentary group is proposing the establishment of a Subcommittee for monitoring Roma issues.

According to SDS deputy Anja Bah Žibert, the initiative is a call to all political parties in the National Assembly to come together and find appropriate solutions for the Roma issue. “Despite the large financial resources earmarked for the integration of the Roma population, the situation is getting worse. We are retreating and we already witness conflicts and violent behaviour practically every day, which is really worrying.”

She added that one doesn’t even know how many Roma there are in Slovenia.

According to the article, in spite of the work of the municipalities, the situation in those settlements is bad. The blame is on the Roma in these kinds of articles. No one asks why this is happening…

Slovenia, Roma, and Violence

Published by:

A long article following the recent beating of a child in a school by a 14-year-old Roma boy. The child is still in hospital. The article states that the government has done nothing, and worse, is de-facto condoning. The article speaks about the Roma violence against the majority population. This is bad.

The article says “We are witnessing the escalation of Roma attacks on the majority population of Southeastern Slovenia, with the ruling coalition rejecting measures that would stop this part of the country from sliding into lawlessness for ideological reasons.”

And is also seen in the other article on the same topic.

Slovenia, Roma, and LGBT

The Slovenian government assessed that it is very important for the Roma community living in Slovenia to be educated in the field of the LGBT+ agenda. Thus, the Ministry of Culture financed a Slovenian-Roma LGBT dictionary prepared by the DIH Association and the Roma Academic Club. The translation is written in Prekmur Romanes. The dictionary of LGBTQ+ terms explains different sexual orientations and gender identities, and the personal experience of being gay in the Roma community is also added.

At the outset, the mayor explained that according to unofficial data, 450 Roma live in the Metlika municipality. She added that younger Roma have become arrogant, arrogant, insolent.

Slovenia and Roma

The situation is not getting better in Slovenia, especially in the South East of the country. In brief, bridges are burnt. And this is bad.

Slovenia: Extorsion

Published by:

An article that highlights the issues in Slovenia: In Šentjernej – A group of underage Roma – two girls and a boy – are extorting drivers at parking lots, forcibly opening car doors and inspecting the interior and making it impossible to start the vehicle, demanding money from drivers violently and with threats. This is bad for all.
