An article about the huge impact of the Pentecostal church among Rroma and Travellers in the UK. This reflects the success of this church in France, Switzerland and to a lesser extend in Germany, but which definitively has a negative impact on Rroma tradition and customs, as these are superseded by church views. The article is correct on the Holocaust and the persecution of Rroma in Germany by the Nazis, but on Rroma itself, the author has obviously no idea. He speaks of two main “tribes”, the Rroma and the Sinti for one. Please inform yourself prior to writing.

The Gatestone institute wrote a piece on “no go zones” in Germany, and managed to pack a bunch of nasty and totally inacceptable stereotypes in the process… Totally beyonf the point. For example: “thousands of Bulgarians and Romanians (including Sinti and Roma “gypsies”) have flocked to Duisburg”, Sinti are locals, and the thousands are not there; “New migrants from Bulgaria and Romania are adding to the problems”, what problems, if not the ones of the journalist; this mixed with factual reporting such as “At night, Romanian residents dance on the streets, the sound system in the car supplies loud music” taken from the German Press.
Well, this article is full of stereotypes and is BAD!!!

According to a recent survey, schools are not a safe place for Rroma and Sinti in Germany. For most of them encounter discrimination and are confronted with sterotypes and prejudices. This is BAD.

A new theatre play, the Journey – Drom, portrays Rroma who moved to Germany in search of a better life. The play and its Rroma and Gadže actors wants to show the complexity of the refugee issue and wants to further understanding in Germany for their plight.

A new cultural centre in the city of Minden aims at presenting the culture of Sinti and Roma, to inform about them and thus reduce the stereotypes and prejudices against them. This is more than needed due to the increase of discrimination and prejudices in Germany in recent years.

An article obout he Holocaust memorial in Berlin, wich, according to this writing could not be build today, first because it only commemorates the Jewish victims and not Rroma and others, but mostly because the anti-Semitisms has increased so much that such a monument would be controversial.

The city of Main in Germany, paired with Miskolc is sticking to its guns. It is providing funds and help for Rroma via the Maltese orders. Main is somewhat embarrassed here as Miskolc is evicting Rroma from its centre on spurious grounds.
And giving funds to the Maltese order is nice, but not sufficient. Political action is required.

Several members of the Czech Council of Roma Minority affairs are demanding in an open letter that the suspicious death of a young Rrom in Žatec be investigated. The boy died on October 18th after having been apparently beaten up by the workers at a restaurant as well as by several patrons there and finally by the police.

The city of Duisburg in Germany expelled Rroma families from appartments in one of the city’s neighbourhoods. Apparently, these expulsions are against the law and were conducted in a brutal manner by the local police.
