The public transports of Košice are hiring Roma … In fact already many work there, they just want more.
Not due to philanthropy, but to the fact that they can’t find anyone.

A Slovak architect says that Slovakia has the money and all that is needed to give proper housing to the Roma community. Only the municipalities willing to take the step are missing.

Four Romani girls and their mothers died in a fire of their house in Richnava in Eastern Slovakia. The police is investigating the cause of the fire as well as investigating racist comments on their own Facebook page following the fire.

There are 41 mayors in Slovakia who are Roma. Highest number ever, but well below the Roma population percentage in the country. Still some way to go.

The laureates of the Roma Spirit 2018 have been disclosed in Slovakia. The prizes go to organisations and individuals in various categories who are furthering Roma and their integration.

The Slovak town of Nitra published a competition for the construction of a community centre for Roma living in the Orechov dvor site on the outskirts of the city.
They had deemed the old one no longer fit for purpose and closed it.

An article on the influence of politicians’ speeches and violence. Well said – when Kotleba, a far right politician calls Roma “parasites” – he effectively calls for their eradication.
This has to stop – in all countries.

A new community centre for Roma will be built in the suburb of Orechov in Nitra. It will replace an older centre that is no longer fit for purposes.
