There are Roma in Cyprus, and they are facing the same disrcimination that exists in many other countries.
The council of Europe is raising concerns about Roma in Cyprus, where they are not recognised as a minority. Many of them originally came from Bulgaria after the split of the island.
Yet another case of a politician grabbing a family drama and using it for racist purposes.
