An association “Phurdo” has turned itself in Salzburg into a centre for Rroma and into a bridge between Rroma, Sinti and the general population. It is now being funded by the city.
Good! Models such as this exist in Vienna (Romano Centro) and should exist in all major cities!

An article in Austria… Two couples of thieves stole a few hundred euros from shops in an Austrian town. So far, nothing special. But the description is not:
“Vermutlich Volksgruppe Roma/Sinti” – Probably from Roma/Sinti ethnicity …
Did they ask the thieves for a racial attestation?

In a village in Austria, a memorial was inaugurated recently naming the 22 families of Rroma and Jews that disappeared during the Nazi rule.
May they rest in peace and not be forgotten.

More Rroma Organisations are stating they do not support Hofer. Neither do we!

Stevan Balog Radul, president of the parliament of the new IRU stood officially behind the right extreme candidate for the Austrian Presidency Norbert Hofer.
He and his party (FPÖ) have consistently taken extremist views on minorities and on LGTB and other social issues.
THIS IS A SHAME that a Rroma organisation supports them
The IRU in question is a new International Romani Union and not the original one. The original one has a different president and president of the parliament. These do not support Hofer.

In the Austrian Burgenland, an event was organised on the 19th of November to commemorate the deportation of the Burgenland Rroma during the Nazi era. These Carpathian Rroma, established in the region since the 14th century, were alm,ost annihilated during World War Two.

The Rroma literature award dedicated to Čeja Stojka was given to a young Rrom author Samuel Mago.

A square was named after the Rroma author Ilija Jovanović, who died in 2010 in that city and who was very active in the community and in Romano Centro.
