As part of its activities, the Association of the Roma Nation (ANR), has convened a public meeting on Rome and Rroma and on the respect of the agreements with the EU following the December 16th resolution no. 117 of the Capitoline council establishing a Roma and Sinti Consultative body (RSC). The NRA invite the mayor of Rome Virginia Raggi as well as several other councillors.
On December 30, 2016, Marcello Zuinisi, the legal representative of the ANR, has filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor at the Ordinary Court of Rome, directly into the hands of the Chief Prosecutor, Dr. Giuseppe Pignatone regarding the gestion and need for closure of the Rroma camps.

In spite of promises and words, it seems that the policies of the new mayor of Rome, Virgina Raggi, are not going to resolve integration issues for Rroma in the city anytime soon… The main proposal is now a round table on integration.

Seems that things are now getting serious. Camps will be closed by the 31 of January. Or not? This is not the first attempt to close the camps …

Italy was literally slammed by the UN for its treatment of Rroma, especially for its camps. The UN says “close the camps and give them lodgings” …
It is true, this is a disgrace.

A bit of controversy on Raggi’s first budget in Rome. Vegans, Rroma, etc. For Rroma, 7 Mio were set aside. But … These will go in part to fund the camps around the capital. Bad.

Yes, the municipality of Rome wants to close the Rroma camps… But continues to fund them. Rather odd, were it not for the spider web of corruption around these camps.

Rroma are being investigated in the death of a Chinese student who was run over by a train while chasing people who had stolen his bag.
Let’s hope this is not true…

13 Indictments and 4 settlements in the case of the so-called “Mafia Capitale” a corruption case involving the city of Roma administration, the mafia and several other participants in rigging the contracts and construction of the infamour Rroma camps around Rome.

It seems that things are slowly moving in Rome: Following discussions in the city council, there is a plan now to slowly move towards the closure of the Rroma camps that were a real shame for the city (and a real source of corruption). The local Rroma organisations have been greeting this progress all the while remaining cautious…

17 people will be put on trial for corruption in the case of the contracts awarded for several camps for Rroma around Rome.

The case of the new Roma camp in the North of Rome, a camp that is being pushed by the new Mayor from the five Star movement in spite of earlier promises, landed in court. Several organisations are claiming there is corruption behind it, and that the Italian state violated the master agreement with the EU concerning Rroma integration.
We hope they succeed!

Attacked because his wife is “the gypsy woman who is on television”, Paul Bitch Ninchi, president of Upre Rome and husband of Dijana Pavlovic, actress and Roma activist, had to to undergo surgery after an injury to his left ear drum.

Italian Rroma leaders have formally asked the EU to block 16 Mio EUR of funds earmarked for the Campania Region specifically for the integration of Rroma. And one knows what these funds were used for in the past: for camps, and for corruption …
