The French news on Roma this week were dominated with the appeal of a catholic priest, Father Arthur Hervet to the French president Macron to ask for the closure of camps to stop and to respect the rights of the Roma and especially the children. The prefect of the North promptly denounced the “untruths” of Father Arthur’s statements on children even though it is well known that the State doesn’t respect its own laws.
In Western France, the Green party denounced the closure of camps; near Bordeaux, a camp was denied water in the midst of the heat wave; near Grenoble, a young Rom burnt himself badly while trying to set a car on fire; and near Paris, in Ivry, two camps were closed.

Breitbart again. This time, on the aggression in Western France of a woman by four men. The serious press reported the facts, said that 4 were arrested, one thanks to DNA (See the second article). What does Breitbart do? Reports that these are most probably Roma.
Could be, but is it relevant? They also got the age of the victim wrong … Probably they can’t really read.

The usual type of news in France this week … Evacuation of a large Roma camp in Western France in Nantes. Caravans were taken away by the police, leaving the Roma without any lodgings. The Roma blocked a road as a protest. In Lille, in the North of France, Roma are between inclusion and exclusion, a camp is closed, and in Roubaix, a bit further, a squat was evacuated. Worst part, a Gadžo was condemned to 8 years of jail for having abused Roma children. In Meulin, near Paris, Roma can still stay in a former hospital and their neighbours are not happy. Still near Paris, in Périgny, a camp was closed. Finally, near Lyon, the insertion village of Saint-Genis-les-Ollières will be getting closed.
