An article from the Daily Mail is really bad … It speaks about a proposal for migrants to the UK to take an oath of allegiance (which this paper seems to like) and bashes the critics who “ignore” the facts.
And if you read the facts about Rroma, well … They are again being used as a bad example to illustrate the ills of migration.

UK: More and More Travellers in the Pentecostal Church
An article about the huge impact of the Pentecostal church among Rroma and Travellers in the UK. This reflects the success of this church in France, Switzerland and to a lesser extend in Germany, but which definitively has a negative impact on Rroma tradition and customs, as these are superseded by church views. And this is not about fortune telling …

UK: Rroma Insecure
A new report by a think tank shows that Rroma in the UK are deeply insecure following the Brexit vote and the subsequent uncertainty and increased anti-immigrant rhetoric. There are an estimated 80 to 300’000 Rroma in the UK, and the EU was contributing around 1.1 Bio pounds a year for their integration.

UK and Adoption
Two young Rroma children who were removed in London from their parent’s home (at birth and at the age of 15 months) are now allowed to be given for adoption following a ruling of the High Court.
The children were traken away against their parents’ will because of the poverty and squalid conditions they lived in. The parent, Rroma from Hungary, meanwhile returned to Hungary.
Here, the well being of the children was used as an argument. But is it really sufficient to deprive them of their parents and to deprive the parents of their children?

UK: 1st Year Pupils’ Statistics
The UK released comprehensive statistics about the performance and capabilities of 1st year school children. As is the case in the UK, ethnicity is also recorded. Rroma and travellers’ children are doing particularly badly in this context. Not surprising if one consider that (a) most Rroma are very recent migrants from Eastern Europe and Balkans and (b) integrated Rroma almost never reveal their identity openly.
