The Police in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, reported a robbery committed by a group of young men aged between 12 and 14. According to the article information, they are Roma from Žabjak. The victims were two young men from whom the group took money, and then one of them was slapped and hit with a stick.

The Greek Police is planning to recruit 100 Roma, as revealed by “TA NEA”, the Ministry of Citizen Protection a few days after Michalis Chrysochoidis announced the installation of a force of 70-100 police officers in camps to control delinquency. This process, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year, has as its main objective the better operational planning and the creation of information networks of the security authorities to deal with gangs in the western suburbs of Attica, but also where there is a density of Roma, as this particular community is considered to have a large share (over 50%-60%) in thefts, burglaries and frauds.

The Police Force has charged a specific person in the case of the attack on a 39-year-old man in Zlaté Moravce. The attacked man died after several days in the hospital. The attack took place on September 13 in the evening.

This case of violence was also addressed by deputies at a meeting of the Zlaté Moravce City Council on Thursday, September 18. According to them, a group of Roma youths attacked a man in front of a shopping centre. They caused him a head injury and a fractured lower leg.

Mayor Dušan Husár and Chief of the Zlaté Moravce City Police, Marián Takáč, confirmed that the aggressiveness of Roma youth in the city is increasing and Zlaté Moravce is starting to have a serious problem with it. The mayor stated that shortly before the tragedy, he had warned the Office of the Plenipotentiary of the Government of the Slovak Republic for Roma Communities about the growing aggressiveness of Roma youth, both in writing and in person.

“70%-75% of crime comes from the Roma,” he said in a recent interview (Action 24, July 24, 2025) the Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis. “I am not saying this for racist or prejudice reasons. Quite the opposite, I love their children and these people, but the profession they do must be changed: thefts, burglaries, frauds, electricity thefts, etc.,” he added.

In recent months, the Hellenic Police have been intensifying unannounced operations in camps throughout the country. Since the beginning of September, at least seven such operations have been carried out in Attica, Thessaloniki, Trikala, Karditsa and Larissa.

Roma don’t deny that criminality is present in their communities, but  say that causes are deeper: they are linked to the long-standing marginalization of the Roma in Greece, their frequent exclusion from access to housing and work, but also to the poor design of any policies that are implemented. “It is not a question of race or ethnicity, but the result of social and economic conditions that concern the whole of society,” emphasizes George Nikolaou.

In early July, three Roma brutally beat-up a 72-year-old farmer Anton Čemažar in a field on the outskirts of Ljubljana. This caused a great deal of controversy. Now, the farmer and his family have suffered their first disappointment: the Ljubljana District Court has rejected a request to investigate a fourth person involved, who led the attackers to Čemažar’s field and drove them away after the violent act, in a vehicle without license plates. The investigating judge and the pre-trial panel believe that the driver did not know what was really happening, but was merely taking the perpetrators fishing, so there is no reasonable suspicion of his complicity.

This is the law, but here the result is that in Slovenia, they say that Roma are not subject to it. Bad.

Former KLA leader Hashim Thaci will begin his defense against charges of war crimes committed in Kosovo and Albania between 1995 and 1998 before the Special Tribunal in The Hague on September 9, the tribunal announced.

Alongside Thaci, Kadri Veselji, Redžep Seljimi, and Jakup Krasnići were charged with crimes against Albanians, declared “collaborators,” Serbs, and Roma, in more than 40 cases held by the KLA. All the defendants were leading members of the KLA Main Staff and the self-proclaimed Provisional Government of Kosovo.

Emil Lambov, Safety Inspector at BDZ-Passenger Transport, explained that throwing stones at moving trains is mainly done by minor children of Roma origin. The situation was so serious that they were considering stopping the movement of trains in certain sections of the region that are problematic.

The chairman of the National Roma Council Petko Asenov said that they have been taking measures in connection with the raids on the railway system for several years now. He pointed out as a positive example the qualification programs that enable young people of Roma origin to find work, including in the BDZ system. Such programs allow young people to be included and to be able to realize themselves, and not to be on the streets and show aggression.

In a statement to the media today, Interior Minister Boštjan Poklukar condemned the violence committed by members of the Roma community against individuals. He stressed that every act of violence is unacceptable, unnecessary and condemnable.

“All criminal acts of violent attacks on individuals, both the mayor of the municipality of Ribnica and the two attacks in Šentjernej and near Ljubljana, have been investigated. The Slovenian police have arrested the perpetrators. Some are in custody. The police here have successfully investigated these criminal acts. I condemn this kind of violence committed by representatives of the Roma community against individuals. This is unacceptable. I believe that the justice system will do what is necessary,” he said.

Even he is slowly but surely ethicizing crime. This is bad.

MPs from the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) from the South East gave a press conference on Roma “Issues”. Franci Kepa, Anja Bah Žibert and Tomaž Lisec warned of ”increasingly worrying conditions due to the increase in Roma violence in Southeast Slovenia and Posavje”. More than 200,000 people live in this area, whose warnings remain unheeded, they warned.

They were standing by the road, but the man thought he wouldn’t be able to pass, so he stopped. Suddenly, one of them actually stepped into the middle of the road and hit the hood of the car and started screaming that the man had almost run him over. One of them approached the man, who had opened the window a little, and demanded that we give him 50 euros, otherwise he would call the police. The one who hit the hood of the car lay down on the road and took pictures of the car, but otherwise everything happened very quickly.”
