A long article from RT on Roma in Russia. While some of the facts are correct (Xaladytka, Servi, and then Kalderaša), they miss quite a few things (Kirimlides who are just a footnote on religion, Lovara, etc. who also came at the beginning of the 20th century – not 19th as they state).
But there are also lots of folklore such a caste system and “values”.

In a commentary prepared by experts from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Institute of Health Policy (IZP) at the Ministry of Health, analysts of the Financial Policy Institute (IFP) at the Ministry of Finance say that “Anti-discrimination measures, financial support to overcome barriers of Roma to access services, improved living conditions, housing and basic infrastructure, such as access to water and sanitation infrastructure,” are necessary in the country.

Switzerland and Minorities

The EU doesn’t approve the way Switzerland is treating its Roma minority. The EU reciew of the 4th Report by Switzeralnd on the Framework Agreement for the Protection of National Minorities is scathing on Switzerland. Amongst others, it says Switzerland needs to take concrete actions against racism and hate speech; improve the infrastructure for travellers; cease discrimination of foreign Roma travellers; tell Switzerland that their criteria for recognition of the Roma minority need to be reviewed; and asks the country to stop racial profiling…
