More news this week in France on Roma. First, a fire in a Roma camp near Paris. The camp had already made the headline as it was filmed with a drone, showing the piles of garbage accumulated there. In Bondy, also near Paris, a Roma camp blocks a construction site. In Meulin, 50 Roma were evacuated from their squat in a former hospital. Also near Paris, in Bonneuil, another camp was evacuated. In Nantes, in Western France, a camp was closed, leaving 150 Roma in the street. In Strasbourg, new families occupied the site of a camp that was closed two months ago. In the North, a camp will not be evacuated prior to the winter respite. Also in the North, an insertion village is still not ready. In Eastern France near Geneva, a new squat of Roma angers local officials. Finally, more about the abuse of social benefits by Roma in the North of France.

A new movie aims at deconstructing the stereotypes on Roma in Marseille – this is new in France. In Sètes, in the South, a temporary camp will be closed mid-November. In Montreuil, near Paris, yet another evacuation, and a pledge for the children who are the victims of such evacuations, losing their right to attend school in the process. Near Paris, in Noisy le Grand, a squat is provoking tensions in the neighbourhood. In the North, a Romni who is part of an integration program is again expulsed – nasty. Finally, the story of a young Rom from Romania who has created is own enterprise in Strasbourg.

Pictures of a Roma camp near Paris made the headline. They show the houses and the garbage filmed from a drone. In Montreuil, the mayor requisitioned housing for migrants, but not for Roma who have been expulsed a long while back. In the north, locals are asking for the closure of a camp while in the South East, in Grenoble, a camp is likely to be closed.
