A new Network of Diasporas has been started at an EU conference, networking Jews, Armenians, Rroma, and Assyrians.

Switzerland Travelers and “Foreign” Rroma

Switzerland loves it complicated… They want segregated camping places for local travelers – Yenische – and for Rroma – usually denotes as “Foreign” even though there are Rroma travelers in Switzerland.

In Western Switzerland, the state is expulsing “foreign Gypsies”.

The central Bulgarian town of Pazardzhik is banning for the full veil being worn by some Rroma women. This is bad, but actually what is worse is that even under the Ottomans, Rroma never ever wore the veil … Fanaticism is doing headways. Dangerous.

A Movie on Rroma …

A polemic started in France because of a planned moive by a French humourist – Christian Clavier – called “Sivouplééé” – a play on the French “please” as pronounced by Romanian Rroma beggars. This movie shows a leftist intellectual who has to open his home to a family of Rroma. And of course, all stereotypes are present.

Toni Gatlif, the French Rroma movie maker simply finds this disgusting, and we share his point of view.

Croatia: Jews and Serbians Boycott Jasenovac Celebrations

Jews and Serbs have boycotted the celebrations of the liberation of the Croatian Concentration camp of Jasenovac on Friday the 22 of April. This is an infamous concentration camp where many Jews and Rroma were exterminated by Croatian Ustasha. Jews and Serbians are protesting against the rehabilitation in Croatia of people associated with this regime and crimes.
