Zagreb Memorial

A mobile memorial for Roma victims of World War II will be created in Zagreb as part of a workshop organized by the Center “Theater of the Oppressed – POKAZ”.

Designed by artist Antonio Grgic, the memorial aims to preserve the memory of the genocide against Roma and Sinti, allowing the community to contribute personal items for remembrance.

The project is part of a broader initiative across several countries, culminating in a virtual museum documenting persecution sites and educational materials, funded by the EU until January 2027.

Another article  about the extravagant mansions In Romania, adorned with dollar symbols and Asian temple-like roofs are prevalent, yet many remain half-empty and poorly maintained, with owners living in cramped conditions.

The accumulation of wealth for these ostentatious buildings began after the fall of communism in the 1990s, primarily from scrap metal collection and the return of confiscated family gold.

Despite the lavish architecture, a significant portion of the Roma population lives in poverty, and the high maintenance costs of these mansions lead many owners to abandon them or leave for better opportunities elsewhere.
