Again negative headlines: This time on Independence square in Kiev, Roma apparently tried to steal from a group of children.
Bad.
Another one of those articles on Roma in the Ukraine: This time, in Lutz, the police chased Roma away from a bus station where they were begging, stealing, and fighting.
Not good for anyone.
In 2016, a Pogrom against Roma took place in Loshchinovka, near Odessa. No Roma were hurt as they had fled prior to the start of the pogrom. The origins of the pogrom was the brutal murder of an 8 year old girl and the fact that a Rom was initially accused of it. This accusation was dropped later.
Roma went to court to protest against the eviction and against the actions of several village officials., including the police which did not do anything to protect the Roma.
They lost – the eviction is apparently “self-government” of the village.
BAD.
In the city of Tatarbunary, near Odessa, doctors, civic activists and Roma leaders conducted an information campaign on the eve of the New Year holidays on more active vaccination against COVID-19 of all residents.
Discussions are ongoing in Ukraine between NGOs and authorities on the issue of Roma work integration, especially in the Transcarpathian region.

The criminal proceedings against the perpetrator of the attack against a Roma camp in Lviv which left one Rom dead have started in Kiev.

Law enforcers completed a pre-trial investigation into the attack on the Roma camp in Lviv in May 2018 which resulted in one dead Rom and there injured ones. A criminal case against an adult organizer and nine juvenile offenders were transferred to court. This is on Friday, December 28, according to the prosecutor’s office of the region.

The preliminary enquiry in the attack on a Roma camp in Lvov in May that left one Rom dead and three injured has been completed. One adult and two minors were involved in the murder.

In a social network, a resident of Zaporozhye Artem Gromov posted a photo of people who, according to him, rob people of Zaporozhye using hypnosis and curses. According to some users of the social network, the Roma are involved in thefts, fraud and robberies near Zaporizhzhya hospitals, markets and other places where people gather. Some Cossacks are convinced that the police are covering the swindlers, since otherwise they would have been in prison long ago.
Some controversy around the alleged perpetrator of the murder of a 8 years old girl that prompted the riots near Odessa in 2016. The suspect has an alibi for the time of the murder and it seems that the prosecution neglected to follow up on other traces / suspects.

A new survey in the Ukraine is chilling. According to the survey, 27% of respondents are convinced that the rights of drug addicts must certainly be restricted, and 38% believe their rights should be limited in certain circumstances.
About Roma, 12% of respondents are convinced that the rights of the Roma must definitely be limited, 35% believe that their rights may be limited in certain circumstances.
