Less news in France, probably due to the refugees… In Tourcoing, in the North, Rroma are expulsed; as in Asnières near Paris; while in Lille, Rroma express their opinion on the insertion villages; and in Roubaix, also in the North, the value of a house decrease if you have Rroma neighbours…
Local residents in a suburb of Grenoble, France, took justice in their own hands and expulsed a Rroma family which was squatting an abandoned house. Police condoned the act and escorted the Rroma away.
DANGEROUS … Justice should be left to the courts and police, not to the crowds.
Macedonia is saying the EU is planning a ban on Balkan refugees. This is already the case with the so-called “safe countries” but could be extended to Kosovo, Macedonia, and Montenegro. This would bar Rroma who are discriminated in those countries from seeking asylum and would also deprive the community of a mean to improve their fate in those countries. This only happens if refugees are on the EU’s door.
Read this… Badly thought arguments, and the way against them on the refugee crisis. The paragraph on Rroma is particularly scary: The argument goes as follows: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria have not managed to integrated their Rroma, so they cannot take on any refugees.
The right way to say it: Nationalistic policies have tried to ethnicise and segregate minorities, and these have failed. Has nothing to do with refugees, and all to do with tolerance.
Representatives of the Rroma education fund met last Friday in Budapest and re-iterated that education is key for Rroma. Without it, no integration will truly be possible.
Several politicians are asking for a national conference to mobilise means and people for Rroma as they have been now for refugees. And the Communist Party (by the way, the one that closed the camp in la Courneuve) is asking for a regional conference to better distribute Rroma in the various towns around Paris.
Germany is housing refugees in the former concentration camp of Buchenwald. Really.
France was put at the same level as Bulgaria by a UN report slamming those two countries for forced evictions of Rroma.

Bulgaria and Sweden are talking about migrants and poverty and Sweden is hoping to improve the living conditions of Rroma there.
Let’s see… Sweden’s agreement with Romania did not do much.
France has been slammed by the UN for the systematic eviction of Rroma camps. The UN stresses that a more inclusive and integrative policy might be a better alternative.
The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister went overboard and demonstrated that he must have been “under the bridge” as on say in the Balkans. 15% of beggars in Sweden are of Bulgarian origins. This is real statistic. If there are 200 beggars there, this is probably a lot.

More and more Hungarian Rroma are now being granted asylum in Canada. Now almost 69% obtain it whereas a few years back, it was almost impossible.
The ex general secretary of the CDU (conservative), Heiner Geissler, stated that Rroma from the Balkan should be granted asylum, as they are systematically discriminated against.

17 Rroma are on trial in Paris for having pick-pocketed tourists in the capital. Some of them are accused to have transferred back as much as 700’000 EUR. A lot of money.
Again, is it relevant that they are Rroma? If guilty, they are criminals. Ethnicity has nothing to do with this. At most, the fact that they had very little other opportunities in their home countries.
Das Boot ist voll – the ship is full is an argument that has been used since a long time to avoid taking care of refugees, and, in the case of Germany, also to avoid having any Rroma around.

The French Front National got caught in a fake Twitter account story used to spread racists tweets, among them (see the bottom of the article) against Rroma.

Manes Bernardini from Bologna, again went overboard: He qualified the city of Bologna as a “Zingaropoli” – a “Gypsy Metrople”. He was slammed by the anti-discrimination council anf given a yellow card.
This is not the fist time that Bernardini uses populist anti-Rroma rhetoric. This has to STOP!
In an interview, a representative of the UNHCR slammed France for having chosen the worst possible solution in closing the camp in la Courneuve.
