Auschwitz: Appeal for Peace

Leaders from several of the main monotheistic religions have issued an appeal for peace in Auschwitz.
GOOD … especially since these monotheistic religions were often at the core of the persecutions.
BUT … Let’s be historically correct. More than one Mio of Jews were killed in Auschwitz. Yes, we agree. There were also 25’000 Rroma who were registered there. REGISTERED. More were killed. Exactly as Jews, those who were gassed immediately were not in the registers. Ca. 350 thousand Jews were registered. Let’s keep that in mind. It is to this day impossible to know how many Rroma were killed.
May they all rest in peace.

An article obout he Holocaust memorial in Berlin, wich, according to this writing could not be build today, first because it only commemorates the Jewish victims and not Rroma and others, but mostly because the anti-Semitisms has increased so much that such a monument would be controversial.

Gold and the Vatican

An article about the Gold that was taken away from Rroma during the Holocaust in World War Two, which according to the president of the World Roma Organisation, Jovan Damjanovic, landed in Swiss banks and in the Vatican.

That 3.5 Mio Rroma died in the Holocaust is probably a very high number, experts think it is probably closer to 1.5 Million, with roughly 275’000 registered deaths (most people were not registered, even in camps, when they were immediately gassed).

That Gold transited through Switzerland, and thus also Rroma Gold, is a certainty. That some of it landed in the Vatican will be difficult to prove.

Germany will pay 2’500 Euro to Czech Rroma Holocaust survivors. Knowing how many effectively survived (actually almost no Czech Rroma did survive, most Rroma in the Czech Republic are originally from Slovakia, having been moved there by the communists right after the war) and the time passed, this is not going to ruin Germany.

It is almost an insult…

Frankly said, they should rather ponder about their history (after all, they deported pretty much all Jews and some Rroma by themselves without assistance), and about the future, namely the extreme racism against Rroma in that country.
