The exhibition season for the City Museum and City Wall Museum ends on November 8, after which both museums will close for their annual winter break.

The temporary exhibition “Swabian Sinti and Roma in the Past and Present” will close at the end of the season in 2026, highlighting the history and persecution of the Sinti and Roma minority in Germany.

A final guided tour will be offered on November 8 at 2:30 PM for a fee of 1.50 euros plus the entrance fee, with no prior registration required.

The site, established after WWII, has evolved from a place with many caravans to a community of around 60 people living in modern mobile homes, emphasizing family and togetherness.

Local officials acknowledge the importance of supporting the Sinti community, especially in the face of rising populism and discrimination.

Romani Rose, chairman of the Central Council of German Sinti and Roma, praised her for her “tireless education” about the minority’s history of persecution. For her it was never about “transferring blame”, but rather about “passing on knowledge”.
